Modification that work, demonstrated by a 1m46 tall instructor

A postgraduate course, specifically designed with all the modifications that really works in the positioning and the focalization, so that you can thrust easily any patients that are taller, bigger, stronger or heavier than you with minimal strength.

All practical session will be individual supervised allowing every attendee to:

-       Progress their spinal manipulations techniques’ skills by improving patient’s positioning, and improving osteopath own body use

-       Identify and overcome what could prevent the achievement of the thrust

-       Maximizing the use of their own body so the use of strength is at its strict minimum and to stay focus at only one vertebral level

-       Maintaining a specific focalization and palpation, prior and throughout the realization of the technique

Each technique will be sequentially demonstrated with focus on the key points and why. Followed by individually supervised practical session

Day 1:

Presentation of the course and its objectives

Sequential demonstration of the lumbar-roll from the positioning of the patient to the thrust

Sequential demonstration of the SI mobilization/manipulation

Day 2:

Demonstration of the hip mobilization from the lumbar-roll position

Sequential demonstration of the Dog technique from the C/D to D/L

Sequential demonstration of the thoracic lift

Day 3:

Safety indication for HVLAT in cervical spine, presentation demonstration and practical sessions step by step for the cervical wheel, + indication and contraindication

Sequential demonstration of the cervical wheel, from positioning of the patient to the thrust from the Occ-C1 to the C7/T1

Meet a great person with a small posture

Lucia Pereira is an osteopath PGDO BSc Hons Ost DO MROF, graduated in 1996 from the European School of Osteopathy. Thanks to her small height and weight, she had to learn to adjust each technique in order to be able to master the HVLAT’s. She keeps training herself in the different fields of osteopathy and other manual therapies. Since a few years she demonstrates and lecture all that she learned and developed in a post-graduated courses manipulation techniques. She is an experienced teacher, still teaching in several school of osteopathy in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and now in Belgium.
